Sichuan Moon Dinnerware

Western fine dining dinnerware has been historically designed for a specific context: individual plating, rectangular tables, and a linear progression of courses consumed by diners in isolation from one another. The form, scale, and orientation of Western dinnerware reflects this individualistic consumption model. However, Sichuan dining and Chinese communal dining broadly, operates on fundamentally different principles. Dishes are shared from the center of a round table, requiring that every piece of dinnerware be designed for accessibility from multiple angles, visibility across distances, and seamless passing between diners.
